Structure & Governance
A voluntary Board of Directors manages the organization with operational responsibility delegated to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is not a member of the Board.
The organisation is committed to the highest standards of governance, accountability and transparency. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates an appropriate system of financial control and complies with relevant laws and regulations.
A board meeting is held monthly on the last Monday of each month. The Board of Directors also meets regularly with the Executive Leadership Team, the Quality Manager and Ancillary Services Manager to get an overview of their activities.

Regular visits to services by our Board Directors involve completing checklists covering various aspects such as staff engagement, support for individuals, and the condition of our services.
These visits are informal and sociable, fostering positive interactions. Any issues highlighted during these visits are promptly addressed by the appropriate teams, reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement and responsiveness.
Our Board Directors contribute their support to Ability West on a voluntary basis. We recognize the value and support they bring to our organization in so many ways.
