aLICE IS HEADED TO THE pARALYMPICS IN fRANCE!

Alice is a Senior Physiotherapist in Ability West

Alice Wainright, Senior Physiotherapist. Ability West will be joining Team Ireland at the Paralympic Games in Paris. Her role will include being part of the ‘team behind the team’, and she will help support the athletes as they arrive and settle in the Athlete Paralympic Village.

Now that the Olympics are finished, make sure to watch and cheer on the Team Ireland Paralympic Team!! This year it is being run from 28th August to the 8th September and it is being broadcast on RTE. It is very exciting as Team Ireland have 35 athletes competing across 9 different paralympic sports.

All the athletes have lots of different types of disabilities, some have cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries and limb absence. This year there is also 2 athletes that are part of Team Ireland that have an intellectual impairment- Aaron Shorten and Deaten Registe pictured below.

This is an amazing opportunity to showcase to the people we support the many benefits of Disability Sport, and will hopefully motivate lots of people to get involved and also support Team Ireland. Alice has promised to send us lots of pictures and updates and we’ll post them here! Good Luck Alice!
